Cinderella with Four Knights

Image
Cinderella with Four Knights (Korean) - Ha Won & Ji Woon Originally, I did not watch this show, skipping past it whenever I was looking for something to watch. A few days, ago, I saw it on Netflix and watched the short clip they showed when it's on a show for a period of time. I saw the clip and figured, "I will just check it out. I highly doubt I am going to like it." Suffice to say, I was wrong. I enjoyed how hard Ha Won tried to accomplish the tasks given to her by the grandfather. It showed how hard she would work while living with the upper class rather than having to try to skate by in life. These tasks led me to enjoying the interactions between her and the Kang cousins more and more. As the show progressed, I saw Ji Woon slowly change because of Ha Won. Obviously not because of any feelings that would develop but because she was honest, trying to make the guys get along, and also because she cared about each of them. I think the thing I enjoyed most, in a w...

Business Proposal

Image
Business Proposal (Korean) - Tae Moo & Ha Ri, and Sung Hoon & Young Seo This was a good show. Plus, I enjoyed watching both couples get together. At the end of the first episode, I predicted Tae Moo and Ha Ri would end up together as would Sung Hoon and Young Seo. I know that it's a cliche storyline, but I do enjoy cliches if it's portrayed well. I liked seeing Ha Ri run around, switching between herself and this other person. It was funny when she met up with Tae Moo for a blind date and did everything possible to get him to dislike her but it backfired. I also liked when he found out and he did what he could to make her life miserable, especially awarding her at a ceremony and inviting this person to the event. I also liked when Tae Moo kept saying he was not going to go on anymore blind dates (even after "breaking up" with the other identity) because he found the person he wanted to marry. At first, it was because Ha Ri was funny but then he got to know mo...

Not Me: The Series

Image
Not Me: The Series (Thai) - Sean & White I enjoyed this show a lot. Honestly, it had me guessing a lot and also had me on the edge of my seat. To help with keeping a couple of characters straight, White will stay White when he is being himself, Black stays Black, and "Black" will be when White is pretending to be Black.  There were many times I wished White told Sean he was not Black rather than let him keep guessing. If White was honest, if not from the beginning but the night they kissed, Sean would not have been beat up by Black for thinking he was White. I loved the scene when Sean confronted Black about not being the "Black" Sean's known for the past several weeks. It all started with the smoking and escalated to them throwing punches. There were times Sean tested "Black" and the reaction was not the same as Black so I think the fighting was the final test. My reasoning is that "Black" could not fight to save his life while Black wa...

TharnType: The Series/TharnType 2: 7 Years of Love

Image
TharnType: The Series / TharnType 2: 7 Years of Love  (Thai) - Tharn & Type I watched both seasons of TharnType ( TharnType: The Series and TharnType 2: 7 Years of Love ) back to back (more like skimmed through the first season because I have already seen it) and actually enjoyed it. Also, I can't believe that the final episode or two left me with tears in my eyes. In the first season, when Type found out Tharn was gay, I thought it was rude of Type to do everything he could (after not being able to switch rooms) to get Tharn to move out. Especially when he trashed Tharn's side of the room. But, I did like it when Tharn got back at him by trashing Type's side as well. There were a couple of times when Tharn flirted Type (though Type did not like it). The first was when Tharn stood up slowly inches from Type after picking something up at Type's feet. The second was when Tharn told Type that he was not going to lure him with food and proceeded to drink from a wate...

Angel's Last Mission: Love

Image
Angel's Last Mission: Love (Korean) - Dan & Yeon Seo As always, this was a good show. There were times I wanted to cry and times I was not happy. And I thought the story line was good. I liked Yeon Seo's character arc. At the beginning, she only cared about herself and talked down to those around her. By the end, she cared about others and was willing to put her life on the line so the man she loved can live. I understand that going blind changed her for the worst but that did not mean she should degrade everyone. So, who she ends up being was very good for her. I also liked Dan's character. First, he was someone who was kind of goofing around while doing his job. Then, he was disobeying a lot of orders to save the woman he loved. I was nervous of the outcome of him doing so but I understood why he was doing that. One thing that made me more nervous, if not scared, than his disobeying orders was when he threatened to kill Ru Na, Yeon Seo's cousin, if sh...

Hotel Del Luna

Image
Hotel Del Luna (Korean) - Chan Sung & Man Wol   I liked this show. It reminded me a little of Master's Sun in the first episode or two. I liked the relationship that grew between Chan Sung and those in the hotel. Especially from when they tried to get rid of him but he turned around and basically told them he was not going anywhere to when they all started caring for each other. Even up to the very end where they were telling each other goodbye before leaving. There were a few instances where I was scared for Chan Sung's life. One of which was when he was told about a “special” guest the hotel had. To hear that he would go crazy when he sees the guest, I was not happy. That was towards the beginning when everyone was trying to get rid of him because that would mean the hotel would close down. Another was when he collapsed after hugging an image of his friend's younger self when Man Wol was messing with the friend's memories. I was sad that Man Wol ...

Love Around

Image
Love Around (Taiwanese) - Zhe Xuan & Ying Ying I did like this show, not as much as several others and better than others. I liked that there were two very different families that ended up coming together in the end in a positive light rather than the negative one that had been plaguing both for years. I originally started watching to see how Zhou Zhen and Xiao Shu ended up getting together but that changed about halfway through. I did like that he did things for her before they even became friends. It was funny that he won a baseball contest for her just so that she would leave him alone after that. I also did like that he secretly helped her when things were bad for the radio station. Even though it was sad that he broke up with her, I liked that he took her feelings into consideration when he found out how her brother was killed. I was also happy that they eventually got married. But, like I said, I only started watching for the two of them and that stopped at...

Bring It On, Ghost

Image
Bring It On, Ghost (Korean) - Bong Pal & Hyun Ji I enjoyed this show a lot even though there were times I found a couple of characters to be annoying or ridiculous. Though I do have to say that those two were funny at one point or another. With Bong Pal and Hyun Ji, I loved everything about them. Speaking on just the dynamics of their teamwork while hunting, I saw that they could trust one another when it came to watching each other's backs. Also, when Hyun Ji said where the ghost's weak spot was, Bong Pal that she was telling the truth. Speaking about their relationship, it was a roller coaster once they started developing feelings for one another. Specifically when she was a ghost. After they started dating, it was sad to see her have flashbacks of one of their dates because she witnessed people looking at him like he was crazy talking to air since they could not see her. It was also sad that she broke up with him after listening to the monk. I was happy to ...

HIStory 3: Trapped

Image
HIStory 3: Trapped (Taiwanese) - Tang Yi & Shao Fei I tried watching this a few months ago after reading the synopsis or seeing the trailer. After watching the first two of episodes, I ended up pushing it off to the side, never returning to it until a couple of days ago. I truly wanted to watch it but I think it had a slow beginning, at least in my opinion at that time. This time I made myself sit down and watch the whole show from beginning to end. Okay, so maybe I did not watch the whole thing. I do admit I skipped the parts that had Shao Fei's coworker and Tang Yi's employee getting into a relationship, but I did watch the rest of the show. I loved the development of Tang Yi and Shao Fei's relationship. I like that it started out with Shao Fei practically tailing Tang Yi to get information of what had happened four years ago and then they were developing feelings for each other. I liked that Tang Yi was trying to stop his group's mob business ...

Theory of Love

Image
Theory of Love (Thai) - Khai & Third It has been a while since I have watched a show but I had to see this one. I wanted to watch it since the trailer aired but I kept forgetting about it until it hit me over the weekend that I had yet to watch it. I liked that some of the episodes titles were in reference to movies such as 10 Things I Hate AboutYou , The Proposal , and Crazy, Stupid, Love . And each movie was incorporated into the episode in one way or another. An example is just like the female lead in 10Things , Third started making a list of things he hated about Khai. During the last episode, one thing I realized (whether it was intentional or not for the show) was that the first several episodes were focused on Third trying to get over Khai and the last few were focused on Khai falling in love with Third. One thing I thought was fair was when Khai was falling in love, saw Third with Un at the movie theater, and ended up being upset. I thought that because of...

Love by Chance

Image
Love By Chance (Thai) - Ae & Pete, Tin & Can   I never remember how I come across some of these shows but I am happy I found this one. I practically fell in love with it from the beginning. I liked watching Ae and Pete's relationship develop because Ae is a very caring guy to his friends and those who feel they are weak and Pete is a very trusting guy. I liked that Ae would always protect Pete whenever he was bullied by the guy Pete liked. And I also liked that Ae would get upset when Pete was hurt either physically or emotionally. I did enjoy watching them, but they started to take a back seat around the sixth episode when Tin and Can started to make more appearances. Now, Tin and Can, I have no words for them because their relationship was very complicated. At least, it was in my opinion. And I enjoyed watching how their relationship developed, even from the very moment they started getting into fights whether it was physically or verbally. When they first tal...

HIStory 2: Crossing the Line

Image
HIStory 2: Crossing the Line (Taiwanese) - Zi Xuan & Yu Hao I really liked this show. Even though it only had several episodes. I like how Zi Xuan and Yu Hao's relationship developed through the episodes. It started as being disrepectful (on Yu Hao's part) and distant (on Zi Xuan's part) to full of nothing of respect and love. I liked that, at the beginning, Zi Xuan's friend kept annoying Yu Hao by trying to get him to join the volleyball team. And it ended with Yu Hao's teacher threatening his grade if he did not join. I also liked that he was so confident about stopping Zi Xuan's serves so he would not have to join the practice at all but ended up failing. I wanted to tell Yu Hao after that to never be confident about something in sports you have never played because you are most likely going to fail. It was nice to see him treat Zi Xuan differently after that, especially when he found out Zi Xuan had an injury that caused him to stop...

Ashes of Love

Image
Ashes of Love (Chinese) - Xu Feng & Jin Mi I truly cannot tell you how I came across this show. I only know that I ended up finding it and thinking that I needed to check it out. Either way, I loved it. Just like other shows, I found my emotions to be a variety. There were times where I laughed, was angry, cried... Even though I found the relationship between Xu Feng and Jin Mi to be depressing at times, I did enjoy watching them at times fight for one another. I found it angering that there were multiple people who were framing Xu Feng for killing Jin Mi's father just so that the two of them would not end up together. Also that she had believed everything she heard and saw from them that it pushed her to kill him. I am glad that she coughed up the Unfeeling Pill so that she ended up realizing that she wrongly accused him thus leading her to try and make everything right again. I am glad that they finally got together, even if it took many years for them to get...

Full House

Image
Full House (Thai) - Mike & Aom Am This show had me experience so many emotions. Sometimes multiple in one episode. I loved watching the relationship between Mike and Aom Am develop. Their relationship was so complex towards the end that I can't imagine how they were able to pull through without wanting to die. I did find some things funny like her accidentally seeing him naked, or when she was making up a story to him about his friend, Guy, in order for her to get back to Thailand. I found it beautiful when he would look at her in certain moments and by the look on his face, you could tell he was a man deeply in love. I think the one I liked the most was when they were sitting on a bench in Korea. He was sitting with his face propped on his hand and just looking at her, probably thinking about how much he was in love with her. I could not stop smiling at how beautiful that scene was. I admit that there were a few times I did cry. The first was when she asked ...

Kiss Me

Image
Kiss Me (Thai) - TenTen & Taliw I enjoyed watching this show like I have enjoyed watching many others. Kiss Me is the Thai version of Itazurana Kiss . Some of the elements are the same such as Taliw and her dad live with TenTen and his family, and he wants to become a doctor while she wants to be a nurse. Aspects of it that I did not care for were that the two of them knew each other when they were kids, their parents knew how they felt for one another, Taliw accepting King's proposal, and one of Taliw's friends becoming a nurse. I do not have a problem with the creators doing things their own way, I just did not care for them changing things. One of the things they changed that I did find funny though was when TenTen had to tutor Taliw. When he first went to her room, she was wearing a dress. When she got up and turned towards him, he stood there in shock at how beautiful she looked. I found it funny because he was in complete shock, and it did take a ...

SOTUS

Image
SOTUS (Thai) - Kongpob & Arthit I know that I always say this about every show I watch, but: This. Was. An. Awesome. Show! I would even go as far as saying it was even better than both seasons of Together With Me . I really enjoyed watching the dynamics in Kongpob and Arthit's relationship. I like that Arthit was cruel on the outside while being a softy on the inside. When he first showed up in front of the freshmen and started yelling at them, I thought that he was a guy you did not want to get on his bad side. I guess you can say that he made me scared. I do love that he also slowly warmed up to the freshmen, even looking after them. Of course, if one of them got hurt or something, he would be in serious trouble. There was even a time where he was relieved of his duty as head hazer for a short period of time because of the way he taught. I also liked that he was not willing to show weakness or defeat when he was told by a senior to run fifty-four laps around ...

Addicted

Image
Addicted (Chinese) - Luo Yin & Gu Hai This was good and funny. But it also did have its sad moments. I enjoyed when Luo Yin and Gu Hai would always play tricks on one another. One example was when Gu Hai made cuts in Luo Yin's school jacket and another was when Luo Yin had sewn Gu Hai's jacket shut during gym class so that he could not get his head and arms through the openings. It was this back and forth between them for several episodes and I did enjoy each trick. It was also funny when Gu Hai stole one of Luo Yin's pieces of homework. Gu Hai had strange handwriting and when he saw Luo Yin's “perfect” handwriting on a piece, he took it so that he could practice. It was adorable when Gu Hai would buy stuff Luo Yin needed in the beginning. He bought him underwear, toilet paper, and even food because Luo Yin is poor so he only had very few pieces of clothing or did not eat. It is funny that, even though they are fighting, Gu Hai is still taking c...

HIStory: Stay Away From Me

Image
HIStory: Stay Away From Me (Taiwanese) - Cheng Qing & Feng He Right away, this was funny. It is funny that the first time they see each other consists of Cheng Qing and Feng He running away from crazed fans. I also wanted to beat Feng He because he was taking advantage of Cheng Qing by making him do this or that. Including putting all of his belongings away! You are the new tenant! It is your stuff! It is your dirty dishes! Do it yourself! And Meng Meng, right off the bat, has the craziest imagination when it came to Cheng Qing and Feng He. She is a fan of boy-love. The moment she found out they are now living together, her mind went to all possible places. Besides thinking, she writes fanfics about them, even follows them, taking photos of them walking side-by-side down the street. I think the first time Cheng Qing and Feng He felt something for each other is when Feng He pulled Cheng Qing back from being hit by a bicyclist. You can see it in their face...

HIStory: Obsessed

Image
HIStory: Obsessed (Taiwanese) - Yi Chen & Jing Teng I liked that this show was short on both time and episodes. Of course, that is what web dramas usually are comprised of: short run time and a small number of episodes. What happened in the beginning between Yi Chen and Jing Teng was sad before Yi Chen was killed and reborn to nine years before. The sad look on Jing Teng's face after he said he was marrying Yi Jun was telling. At least it was to me. Everything Jing Teng said or did when saying that showed he does not want to get married. It was also sad that Yi Chen did everything he could to stay away from Jing Teng after being reborn. Of course it is understandable because if you are given a second chance to change something from your past, especially if it leads to your untimely death, you would do everything you could to stop yourself from dying a second time. It was funny that the notations Yi Chen had made of Jing Teng blew away while he was...

Together With Me/Bad Romance

Image
Together With Me (Thai) - Korn & Knock I quite enjoyed this show. I am not usually one for Thai dramas (usually Korean or Taiwanese), but I could not pass this one up. I do not remember what made me decide to watch it but I knew I had to after watching a video of some sort. I liked watching the ups and downs of Korn and Knock's relationship since that is what all relationships go through whether the relationship is gay/lesbian or straight. I loved that they did end up together in the end. A happy ending always makes me happy. Now, with Knock's girlfriend, I wanted to beat the crap out of her at the end. In the first episode or two with her, I felt bad for her because she had no idea what was going on. But once I started to see her conniving self, I immediately wanted to beat her. Instead of sitting down and talking to him, she found ways to keep him by her side, even if it physically or emotionally hurt him. And I liked how Korn was honest with K...
