It Started With A Kiss
What can I say about this? I LOVED IT! I STILL DO! Okay, so ISWAK is a spin-off of Itazura na Kiss which is also awesome. But about this...
When Zhi Shu was always mean to Xiang Qin, it was sad. In the seventh episode when he finally kisses her, I mean, he, like - I don't know how to explain it. He goes in for it. And then when he stops and looks around, basically thinking, What did I do? What is this?, you can see it on his face. I'm thinking, Awww. And then he sticks out his tongue and it's like, Oh, I hate you, you big meanie. And then in the eighteenth episode when Yu Shu gets sick and Zhi Shu rushes to the hospital to Xiang Qin and he holds her while she cries, once again, it's like, Awwwwwww!!! I mean, it was so beautiful given the circumstances. And when they are in Yu Shu's hospital room, looking over him, I am telling you, they acted exactly like parents. Here's the down low:
Xiang Qin is falling asleep while her head is propped up on her hand on Yu Shu's bed. Zhi Shu is reclining back in his chair. When he sees her head moving up and down (obviously that normally happens when you're fighting to keep awake but you're dozing off), he moves to the front of his chair. When her head finally slips off of her hand and she wakes, he tells her to lean back in the chair and she's like no, she's fine. So, he sits back and watches her head slowly drift down onto her arm. When her head is on her arm, he gets up and attempts to wake her up. When he does wake her up (while unfortunately getting hit in the jaw!), she finally listens to him and leans back in her chair. And obviously he kisses her again, this time without her knowing and Yu Shu witnessing.
Now, in the second season, They Kiss Again, it was very sad at parts between the both of them. One major part is when Zhi Shu is jealous of Xiang Qin and Qi Tai. In the eleventh episode, after the entire family and her new college friends came back from vacation, she had gone to Zhi Shu in Yu Shu's room to say that one of her high school friends and her boyfriend were getting married and that they were going to have a baby. Also if he remembered what the following month was. He said their anniversary. She said that his mom was planning a big two-year anniversary celebration. He said that there was nothing to celebrate and if she was done. She said yes and that she was sorry to interrupt him. Out in the hall, she starts to cry. Yu Shu tries to open the door but she pulls hard, saying that she doesn't want "him" to see her crying. Eventually, she says to Zhi Shu that he doesn't look at her, that it's always been a one-sided love, and that he doesn't love her. Right after that, Zhi Shu opens the door and sits in front of her. He tells her to calm down and she says no. She says that she's sick of it and after saying something else, gets up and runs to their bedroom, leaving Zhi Shu heartbroken with her suffering even more. Eventually, they do get back together.
I'll make it quick for Ah Jin and Christine. Two words: Too cute! They were so adorable. And the fact that she did everything he said he wanted in a wife and that when she didn't accept his proposal because she wasn't "perfect" anymore and then when he turns around and wants to burn himself so that he can be like her... Too cute!
Now for Yu Shu and Hao Mei. Also cute. It was funny when his mom and Xiang Qin were taking photos and trying things to get Yu Shu and Hao Mei together. Then, quickly, this one time when the family is playing a three-round game, Xiang Qin and Mom had a secret to have Yu Shu and Hao Mei get first place so they obviously cheated. One thing was to make the egg stand up. Well, one of the two took Hao Mei's egg (Yu Shu was in the front room) and quietly cracked the bottom and stood it up. In the end, the prize Hao Mei picked was a candlelit dinner and a three minute kiss. Yu Shu took the box and took the papers out. Every one said the same thing: dinner and a kiss. He got mad at Hao Mei. Xiang Qin and Mom said that Hao Mei had no idea what was going on. Hao Mei said something and ran out of the house with Xiang Qin, his parents, and Xiang Qin's dad following her, leaving Zhi Shu on the couch and Yu Shu in the dining room.
Not long after, Yu Shu goes to find Hao Mei. When she looks for a clover, he sings a song. Though it might not be directed to her, I personally would like to think that he is singing it to her. Eventually, they do get together. Married? I don't know. But for now, boyfriend and girlfriend and I am happy with that.
